PROTEST PACK
TOXIC MASCULINITY
This final project of the semester involved choosing a campaign of our choice, and producing a protest pack, available for campaigners to join get involved in the movement. We had free rein on this project so we got to decide what sort of outcomes would be appropriate towards our movement. I chose to look at toxic masculinity and the way this affects men, both mentally and physically. The main outcome for my project was a series of beer mats which I thought was a really clever way of reaching a male demographic. Other elements of the protest pack include a poster, a printable pdf design which could be transferred onto items of clothing etc, and an embroidery pattern where people can engage in the campaign. My main theme was craftivism as embroidery/textiles is something I love, and I thought it was a really good idea for this project due to the irony in protesting a male topic through a method which is stereotypically feminine. I was really pleased with the outcomes and this was definitely a project I really enjoyed working on.
