PICTURE BOOK FOR EARLY READERS
For this brief, I chose to illustrate the children's book 'How the elephant got its trunk' by Rudyard Kipling. We were asked to produce a front cover illustration, a single page illustration and a double page spread. I really enjoyed this project and also learnt a lot through the process. I pushed myself for the 3 weeks and I am really pleased with the final outcomes. I combined both analogue and digital elements to produce my final pieces, using lots of layers on photoshop, using a variety of textures to provide atmosphere and depth to my illustrations. One element I am particularly pleased with was the font as I took an existing font and edited all the letters slightly to ensure it suited the children's theme appropriately - I learnt a lot and I think it definitely works effectively.
